Bichectomy, often referred to as the “Hollywood cheek”, is a plastic surgery procedure that is performed to make facial features more proportional. In this operation, facial lines are clarified by removing the fatty tissue on the cheeks. Following the operation, swelling and bruises may be observed and disappear within 7-10 hours; therefore, it is enough to stay one day for the bichectomy procedure.

What Are The Points To Be Considered Before Bichectomy (Hollywood Cheek)?

• Before the surgery, you should inform your doctor about all your health information such as your chronic diseases, diseases you have had, genetic diseases and medications you use continuously.
• Smoking should be stopped or reduced because nicotine slows down the healing process.

What Are The Points To Be Considered After Bichectomy (Hollywood Cheek)?

• Antibiotics prescribed by your doctor should be used regularly.
• Liquid foods should be consumed for the first 1-2 days. After the 3rd day, soft foods can be consumed. The patient can return to her/his normal diet after approximately 1 week.
• After Hollywood cheek surgery, there may be swelling in the mouth and on the cheeks.
• Pressure bandage should be applied for at least 120 minutes after the surgery.
• Addition to this application, the patient should consult her/his doctor and apply cold compresses for 72 hours. This application should be done every 4 hours and the application time should be 15 minutes.
• Foods and drinks that cause edema should not be consumed.
