What is Sapphire (FUE) Hair Transplantation?

In the Sapphire FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) method, hair follicles are extracted one by one and transplanted to hairless or sparse hair areas. The feature of Sapphire FUE hair transplantation is that the tip of the cutting tool used during the hair transplantation contains sapphire crystal. Sapphire, as a precious metal, has antibacterial properties.

Advantages of Sapphire (FUE) Technique:

• The channels by the number of grafts required for hair transplantation are opened with a sapphire tip. Trauma on the scalp is minimized thanks to this sapphire tip.
• There is no scar or wound in the sapphire method. In this way, the healing process is faster.
• In the Sapphire FUE technique, the rate of the frequent opened channels is more than DHI technique. Thanks to this method, hair grows thicker and more dense.
• While a maximum of 2000 – 2500 grafts are transplanted in the DHI technique, up to 7000-10000 grafts are transplanted in the Sapphire technique.
• Since three-dimensional channels are opened in the Sapphire technique, the natural angle of the hair can be provided much more easily.
• Sapphire FUE technique is the most preferred for people who will have hair transplantation; because the person has an extremely natural appearance as a result of hair transplantation.

Disadvantages of Sapphire (FUE) Technique:

There are minor differences although the Sapphire FUE technique does not have many disadvantages. For instance, the operation time may take longer if 7000 grafts are transplanted.

It is only possible with DHI technique. People with sparse hair can be transplanted without shaving in DHI technique. The duration of the hair transplantation can usually vary between 4 and 6 hours depending on the surgical transplantation method, the amount of hair to be transplanted and clinical policies. However, in general, the hair transplant procedure can be planned in one day.

What Are The Points To Be Considered Before Sapphire FUE Hair Transplantation?

• Stop smoking and taking aspirin 7 days before, and drinking caffeine, green tea and alcohol 3 days before the operation.
• Stop drugs, stimulants and pleasure-inducing substances 7 days before the operation.

• You should arrange a resting period of 2-3 days following the operation.
• You should be on an empty stomach on the morning of the operation.
• Prefer the buttoned up shirt style clothes when coming to the operation.

What Are The Points To Be Considered After Sapphire FUE Hair Transplantation?

• Be careful for one week after the hair transplant to not hit or rub your head.
• Do not consume cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, stimulants and pleasure-inducing substances for 7 days after the operation.
• Do not enter the hammam and sauna for 3 months.
• Do not swim in the pool or sea and do not sunbathe for 1 month after the operation.
• After the operation, medicines and lotions given by your physician should be used regularly and in accordance with the hours.
• The physician’s advice and recommendations should be followed and the special shampoo and care products should be used regularly after hair transplantation. Any external shampoo mustn’t be used.
